We are writing to you with sad personal news. The adoption for which we had planned sadly failed. The mother decided to try to parent the baby rather than placing him with us. A “failed” adoption is always a possibility and we knew that going in. But in this situation, the mother seemed so certain …
Matched!
Guess what, everyone??? We’re matched*!!! A few weeks ago we heard about a mother**, “C” who was hoping to make an adoption plan*** for her baby. Our profile was shown to her and she eventually decided that she would like to plan to place her child with us! She lives in Kansas and the baby …
Making Progress!
This summer has been an adoption-focused time for us! Not only did we sign up with another law office earlier in the summer but we recently signed up with Christian Adoption Consultants (CAC). Our current Home Study is in the process of being updated and will last for one more year after the update. Chris …
Still Waiting… Mini Update
Although we are technically in the same place as our last post (Home Study completed, waiting to be matched), we have a few updates to share! A few weeks ago we were connected to an adoption law office in Kansas who was having a hard time placing a newborn baby boy. Although the mother chose …
The next step is complete!
We have an approved Home Study to adopt Baby #2! Now we wait to be matched… There is no time frame on this, it could be soon or in a long time. We could learn about a baby that has already been born and ready for an immediate adoption or about a mother who just …
We Hope to Adopt Again!
From the start of us dreaming about adoption, I think that we always wanted more than one child. Alina has surpassed our hopes as far as temperament (she is so happy!) and we want her to grow up with the joy of having a sibling. Chris is hoping for a boy and I kinda want …
Homecoming!
Our baby girl was born last month and we want to share a bit about her homecoming! For a bit more backstory to being matched for adoption, please see this blog post. The day before our daughter was born we received the text we had been waiting for: her mother* had gone into labor! We …
It’s a Girl!
We have been matched! In a surprising turn of events, we are excited to announce that we are in the process to adopt a baby girl who will be born in Spokane in April. As you may have read in a past blog post, we have been waiting for a match from a Florida agency …
We’re Fundraising!
As we wait to see what God has in store for growing our family, we are asking for financial assistance. Adoption is usually a very expensive process but God has already provided so much for us! There are upcoming expenses ahead but we trust the Lord to provide all that we need. He has always been faithful and generally through the generosity of His people.
Why Adoption?
Chris and I are celebrating our 10 year anniversary in a few months. 10 years ago we were discussing when to have children, not how. I had always had the dream of adopting in the back of my mind but we planned to have natural children before we even considered this. But life doesn’t always …
