We have an approved Home Study to adopt Baby #2! Now we wait to be matched… There is no time frame on this, it could be soon or in a long time. We could learn about a baby that has already been born and ready for an immediate adoption or about a mother who just learned that she is expecting and won’t give birth for months. It likely will take some time to get matched so we’re prepared to wait.

We are open to newborn to 18 months so that Alina will still be the oldest, although we do hope for another newborn… there is nothing like newborn snuggles!

Chris hopes for a boy but I would be thrilled if it was another baby girl, so officially we are open to either and our prayer is that God will give us a child that fits with our family culture, boy or girl.

Our lawyer is in Florida so we likely will be flying to FL with our whole family and coming home with a new family member! Alina was adopted outside of this plan, however, so we know that God could open up another opportunity more locally if He chooses.

As we look forward to adopting another child, I can’t help but also look back. It was just two years ago that our initial Home Study was approved. We only waited six months before welcoming home the sweetest little one who changed our lives significantly! Alina truly brings us so much joy – literally, her favorite word (after “Mommy”) is “happy.” We are challenged to love and care for her well while providing boundaries that she frequently tests. Parenting is so much harder – and so very much sweeter – than I ever expected. We can’t wait to have another little one to love!

-That God would bring us another child to adopt and patience as we wait

-That God would provide what we need financially to be able to adopt

-That the child would be healthy and fit into our family and community well

-That we would grow as parents and enjoy the transition from one kid to two kids

-That Amendment 4 would fail in Florida (Amendment 4 would basically allow abortion through all 9 months of pregnancy in Florida)

-That God would work on the heart of the mother of the child He has for us to not abort her child but to place him/her in our loving family. Her health during her pregnancy, safety and salvation as well

-Provision of a van for us so that we can transport two children and guests more easily
