Although we are technically in the same place as our last post (Home Study completed, waiting to be matched), we have a few updates to share!

A few weeks ago we were connected to an adoption law office in Kansas who was having a hard time placing a newborn baby boy. Although the mother chose to place the baby with a more local-to-her family, we appreciated the communication of the law office and have decided to place our name on their list. We are still a client of a law office in Florida but our attorney there has been upfront about challenges to completing placements lately due to fraud so we decided to get our name out there to another office to see if we can get a quicker match.

Our Home Study was approved late last September and is technically good for two years but will need to be updated at the one year mark. Our hope is that we will not need further updates but we are trusting God’s timing as we wait for what He has for us!

As we wait, what we have is growing more precious than ever to us. Alina is a delight as she grows up (a little over 2 years old now!)! She’s sweet, kind and fun – she will make such a good big sister! We are thankful everyday for the gift that she is to our lives! Chris and I are doing well also. We are celebrating our 12th anniversary this month and our marriage is a joy. The church is growing in both attendance and knowledge. My (Ashley’s) health stuff is doing really well. All that to say, we are grateful for God’s good gifts! We have had lots of seasons of pain, trials and sorrows which God has used but we are really grateful to be in a sweet season at this time.

Please continue to pray for us. Pray that we would be Christ-focused in all we do. And please be praying for the gift of a second child who would fit into our home, heart and church.

We are still fundraising as we wait! We are grateful for the adoption fund at our church to which people have generously contributed and for the grant through LifeSong that is still waiting for us (we still have over $5500 of matching funds available). It’s likely that we will need a large sum in a short period of time to complete the adoption so we’re grateful for any contribution as we wait.
