Florida Baby!

Someday soon I will write out our whole adoption story.

I won’t leave out the crushing weekend at the end of June after more disappointments, miscommunication and bitterness when I wrote in my journal “God, maybe you don’t have a second baby for us after all.”

But that wasn’t true. In fact, the day I wrote that question from a broken heart, a small baby girl was born.

You guys… Long story short, that baby girl (Lord willing) will be our second daughter.

Baby Girl was born in Florida where she is currently in care. We have (impatiently) waited for each update over the last three weeks. Finally, earlier this week we received the agreement from the attorney and we submitted payments yesterday.

Today we heard word that we can travel on August 3rd!

Even though we will get to be there soon, there is still an ongoing legal process with the father before we can officially have placement. And after that, the attorney will need to submit the interstate paperwork before we can bring Baby Girl home. We could be there for two to three (perhaps longer) weeks.

We are all (even Alina!) so excited. Actually, excitement is an understatement. Excited, happy, anxious, sad for the past, thrilled for the future, ready to go but so much to do!

Please pray for us.

Pray that God would be glorified no matter what happens. Please pray that this adoption would smoothly proceed and that nothing would stop it. Pray that we would have what we need. Pray for our endurance, strength and wisdom. And pray that our girls would come to know Jesus as they grow up!

If you would like to contribute towards our adoption expenses, we would be so grateful! See our Fundraising page for more information.

Thank you for following along!

    Hi Chris & Ashley,

I am happy and grateful to the Lord for how He is writing your stories. It is good to know specific, timely ways to pray.

Just this evening I was reflecting on what it took to pay for our redemption so that we can be adopted into God’s family. I will be praying with you for this little one to be brought into your family, as well being brought (along with her big sister) into the forever-joy of God’s family.

    With love, Denise Campbell
