It’s interesting to pick up on a blog that hasn’t been updated for over three years. So much has happened in three years!

• Chris finished seminary in Spokane
• We bought and sold our first house
• Ashley has significantly improved health-wise due to medical interventions and other changes
• We moved to Oregon
• Chris is now the Senor Pastor of a church!
• We bought a house in Oregon
• We started the process to adopt a child

We started the process to adopt a child!

We met with the agency we are working with in Florida in May and have just finished our Home Study. It all feels incredibly surreal. We have completed all we can at this time, so now we wait to be matched with a child!

In the meantime, we will be fundraising. It’s a pricey venture so we hope to be able to have the funds ready for the next stages as they come. It will be a $6000 fee once we’re matched, $10000 to take the baby home, travel costs to go and stay in Florida and lots of other costs to help the expectant mom during her pregnancy.

If you are interested in giving, our church has an adoption fund set up. Make a check out to Faith Bible Church with “Adoption Fund” in the memo and mail it to Faith Bible Church, 1889 Belmont Dr, Hood River, OR 97031. We will also be applying for grants and such that you may be able to give through as well – I will be sure to post about this when I have more information!

A more critical need would be prayer for us. Please pray that the Lord would provide children through this adoption process. Please pray for patience, it may not be a quick process. And please pray for the unknown expectant mom, that she would choose life for her children and us to raise them and that she would be drawn to the Lord in the whole process.
