It’s a Girl!

We have been matched!

In a surprising turn of events, we are excited to announce that we are in the process to adopt a baby girl who will be born in Spokane in April. As you may have read in a past blog post, we have been waiting for a match from a Florida agency since the fall but in the meantime, God has opened this door that we never foresaw! We plan to travel to Spokane after she is delivered and will stay with Chris’ parents for a few weeks while the paperwork for an interstate adoption processes.

We are working hard to allow this baby girl’s mom to keep her anonymity in this process so if you are someone who knows more details than what we are publicly sharing, please do not share any information with anyone else (and especially in a public place like Facebook). Spokane is a small community so please help us in this way!

The last few weeks we have busily gathered things we need to care for an infant. Our nursery is coming together and there is little else that we really need to get started at this point. We do have an Amazon registry started and our church in Hood River will host a baby shower in May if all proceeds as planned. Our church has had three baby boys born in the past year so they are exited to get to celebrate a little girl!

There are costs involved with this adoption but thankfully they are less than other adoptions. Between our savings and other adoption funds, we expect to be able to cover the expenses. God has provided well for us and we are grateful to Him!

Our process in Florida is still ongoing – this adoption is not stopping that! We have always hoped for two children so we will continue to wait for a match from the Florida agency as well! The fundraiser through LifeSong for Orphans will help to fund an adoption from Florida which we expect to be significantly more costly than the adoption in Spokane.

Thank you all for your prayers and your care for us! Your prayers are being answered!
